AI Cybersecurity & Governance Consultant

Contract / Project-based

The Opportunity

Help organizations adopt AI with the safeguards required to protect systems, data, customers, and reputation. You'll assess risks, establish controls, and guide secure implementation across AI and broader technology environments.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct AI security, privacy, governance, and risk assessments.
  • Identify threats such as prompt injection, data leakage, insecure integrations, model misuse, and third-party/vendor risk.
  • Develop practical policies, control frameworks, and secure-development guidance.
  • Support security architecture reviews, threat modeling, and risk remediation plans.
  • Help clients align AI programs with applicable security, privacy, and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineering, legal, compliance, and executive stakeholders.

What You Bring

  • 5+ years in cybersecurity, information security, risk, privacy, governance, or technology assurance.
  • Experience with security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2, CIS, or similar.
  • Working knowledge of cloud security, identity/access management, application security, and data protection.
  • Familiarity with AI/LLM risks, responsible AI practices, or emerging AI governance frameworks.
  • Strong written communication and client-facing consulting skills.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, CCSP, or privacy credentials are a plus.
